Other accounts give 3 deaths of children: Levi, Margaret and Mary. The sole death is that of Bayless, one of the two "watchmen". In Pirtle's tale, no child of Richard and Peggy's is actually killed, nor is any Chenoweth for that matter. Other accounts of the Chenoweth Massacre are markedly different than Alfred Pirtle's. Alfred states he was a grandnephew of James, but a tie between the children of James and the Pirtles does not seem to exist.
